I got into yoga after deciding to pursue acroyoga, so in a way, yoga is part of my acro practice, in that it supported my initial need for body awareness, strength, and flexibility. As I have grown as a yogi and acroyogi, I have seen both practices support each other. I have done things I never thought possible, and had injuries and struggles which have flexed and strained my ego. I enjoy the directness of acro, the simplicity of knowing "it worked" if the move was executed without coming to the ground. I enjoy the way acrobatics challenges my physical, emotional, and communication skills. All of this is yoga, in my opinion.
